Job summary

Akamai Technologies is seeking a Senior Lead Site Reliability Engineer to drive automation, performance optimization, and reliability for compute products and services. You will define requirements, lead teams, and set SLOs/KPIs while collaborating with engineering, product, and support across a remote-friendly environment.

Applicants should have 5 years of relevant experience and a degree in Computer Engineering or CS, with strong Linux, hardware, and distributed systems skills.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience in a development or SRE role.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• Experience architecting hardware, software, and infrastructure at scale.
• Strong communication, mentorship and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Define requirements as part of the product lifecycle to influence designs and standards.
• Provide leadership and motivation for project teams.
• Create and maintain SLOs and KPIs with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with support, operations, hardware, and engineering to investigate and troubleshoot.
• Participate in on-call rotations and guide restoration of service-impacting issues.
