Job summary

Fuze Health Inc. is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to lead database modernization for the Hospice unit across the United States. You will drive SQL Server on EC2 migration, upgrade to supported versions, and modernize SSIS/SSRS with AWS-native options while reducing costs and ensuring compliance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in database administration.
• Deep expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server version upgrades and end-of-support migrations.
• Strong hands-on experience with SSIS and SSRS.
• Experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server) setup, migration, monitoring, Multi-AZ.

Responsibilities

• Lead the SQL Server modernization on EC2 and migration to AWS RDS.
• Assess, migrate, and maintain SSIS ETL and SSRS reports; consider AWS-native ETL/reporting.
• Drive database cost optimization and right-sizing of instances.
• Upskill Hospice SQL DBA team on AWS database operations and best practices.
• Establish cloud-native monitoring with Datadog and CloudWatch.
• Design automated backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes using AWS Backup.
• Perform query optimization, index management, and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with DevOps on Terraform for RDS and infrastructure automation.
• Ensure HITRUST compliance for all database systems.
