Job summary

Fuze Health Inc. is seeking a Senior Database Administrator for Fuze Care Services to lead the SQL Server modernization on AWS, migrating to RDS and upgrading from SQL Server 2016, and modernizing SSIS/SSRS.

You will optimize costs, mentor Hospice SQL DBAs, implement monitoring with Datadog and CloudWatch, and ensure HITRUST/HIPAA compliance across databases. This role supports hospice applications nationwide in the United States.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in database administration.
Deep expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery.
Hands-on experience with SQL Server version upgrades and end-of-support migrations.
Strong hands-on experience with SSIS and SSRS.
Experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server) setup, migration, monitoring, Multi-AZ.
Experience with AWS-native ETL and data migration tooling (AWS DMS, AWS Glue).
Proficiency in backup/restore strategies and point-in-time recovery.
Experience in regulated environments (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2).

Responsibilities

Lead SQL Server modernization on EC2 with migration to AWS RDS or in-place upgrades.
Migrate and maintain SSIS ETL packages and SSRS reports; consider AWS-native ETL options.
Drive database cost optimization through right-sizing and licensing review.
Upskill Hospice SQL DBA team on AWS database operations and best practices.
Establish cloud-native monitoring using Datadog and CloudWatch.
Design automated backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes.
Collaborate with DevOps on infrastructure automation (Terraform).
Ensure HITRUST/HIPAA compliance across database systems.
