Job summary

Fuze Health Inc. is seeking a Senior Database Administrator for the Hospice unit. You will lead SQL Server modernization on AWS, migrate to RDS, upgrade on EC2, and rework SSIS/SSRS workloads. The role includes cost optimization, mentoring a DBA team, and establishing cloud monitoring and backups.

You will collaborate with DevOps on Terraform and ensure HITRUST/SOC2 compliance, while exploring PostgreSQL/Aurora options for 2027 roadmap across the Hospice platform nationwide.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of database administration experience.
• Deep expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) performance tuning, HA, DR.
• Upgrades and end-of-support migrations (e.g., SQL Server 2016).
• SSIS/SSRS hands-on development, migration, and administration.
• AWS RDS setup, migration, monitoring; Terraform for infra.

Responsibilities

• Lead SQL Server modernization on EC2 with migration to AWS RDS or in-place upgrades.
• Migrate and maintain SSIS ETL and SSRS reports or re-platform AWS-native ETL/reporting.
• Drive database cost optimization and right-sizing decisions.
• Upskill Hospice SQL DBA team on AWS database operations and RDS management.
• Establish cloud-native monitoring with Datadog and CloudWatch.
• Implement automated backup, restore, and DR processes with AWS Backup.
• Perform query optimization, indexing, and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with DevOps on Terraform-based infrastructure for RDS.
• Ensure HITRUST/HIPAA/SOC2 compliance across databases.
• Support Hospice application team with database-related needs.
• Explore PostgreSQL/Aurora for future modernization roadmap.
