Job summary

Fuze Health is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to lead the Hospice database modernization effort. You will drive SQL Server modernization on AWS, upgrade and migrate SSIS/SSRS, optimize costs, and mentor the Hospice SQL DBA team in cloud operations.

You will implement monitoring with Datadog and CloudWatch, and ensure HITRUST compliance across critical databases. The role focuses on self-managed SQL Server on EC2 with migration to AWS RDS, ongoing modernization, and cross-team

Qualifications

8+ years of database administration experience.
Deep expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) performance tuning, HA, DR.
Hands-on with SQL Server upgrades and end-of-support migrations.
SSIS ETL packages and SSRS reporting experience required.
Experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server) setup and monitoring.
Experience with AWS-native ETL/data migration tools.
Experience with HIPAA/HITRUST regulatory environments.

Responsibilities

Lead SQL Server modernization on EC2; migrate to AWS RDS or upgrade off SQL Server 2016.
Migrate/maintain SSIS ETL and SSRS reports; consider AWS Glue or re-platform on SQL Server on EC2.
Drive database cost optimization and right-size infrastructure.
Upskill Hospice SQL DBA team on AWS database operations and RDS management.
Establish cloud-native monitoring with Datadog and CloudWatch.
Design automated backup, restore, and DR processes with AWS Backup.
Collaborate with DevOps on Terraform for RDS and automation.
Ensure HITRUST E1 compliance across database systems.
