Job summary

Fuze Health Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator to lead cloud database modernization for the Hospice unit.

You will drive MS SQL Server modernization on AWS, migrate SSIS/SSRS workflows, and optimize costs while elevating the team’s cloud capabilities. Qualifications

• 8+ years of database administration experience.
• Deep expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server upgrades and end-of-support migrations.
• Strong hands-on experience with SSIS and SSRS.
• Experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server) setup, migration, monitoring, Multi-AZ.
• Experience with AWS-native ETL and data migration tooling (DMS, Glue).
• Experience with database migration projects (on-premises or EC2 to RDS).
• Backup/restore strategies, point-in-time recovery, cross-region replication.
• Monitoring tools (Datadog, CloudWatch, SQL Server DMVs).
• Proficiency in T-SQL, stored procedures, and query optimization.
• Experience in regulated environments (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2).

Responsibilities

• Lead SQL Server modernization on EC2: migration to AWS RDS or in-place upgrade from SQL Server 2016.
• Migrate and maintain SSIS ETL and SSRS reports; consider AWS-native ETL/reporting or upgrade on EC2.
• Drive database cost optimization: right-sizing, Reserved Instances, storage tiering.
• Upskill Hospice SQL DBA team on AWS database operations and best practices.
• Establish cloud-native monitoring, alerting, and baselines using Datadog and CloudWatch.
• Design automated backup, restore, and disaster-recovery processes with AWS Backup.
• Collaborate with DevOps on Terraform for RDS infrastructure.
• Ensure HITRUST E1 compliance across all DB systems.
• Support Hospice application team with database-related development needs.
• Evaluate PostgreSQL/Aurora for 2027 roadmap.
