Job summary

Fuze Health is seeking a Senior Database Administrator for Fuze Care Services to join the Technology Platform team, focusing on the Hospice unit. You will drive the AWS database modernization, including migration to AWS RDS, SQL Server upgrades, and SSIS/SSRS modernization, while reducing costs and mentoring the Hospice DBA team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of database administration experience.
• Deep expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) performance tuning, HA, DR.
• Hands-on upgrades and end-of-support migrations (e.g., SQL Server 2016).
• Strong SSIS and SSRS experience in development and admin.
• Experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server) setup, migration, monitoring, Multi-AZ.
• Experience with AWS-native ETL tools (DMS, Glue) and modernization planning.
• Database migration project experience (on-prem to AWS).
• Backup/restore strategies, PITR, cross-region replication.

Responsibilities

• Lead SQL Server modernization on EC2 and migration to AWS RDS.
• Migrate/maintain SSIS ETL packages and SSRS reports; evaluate AWS-native options.
• Drive database cost optimization: right-size, RI, storage tiering, licensing costs.
• Upskill Hospice SQL DBA team on AWS database operations and DR practices.
• Establish cloud-native monitoring with Datadog and CloudWatch.
• Design automated backup, restore and disaster recovery processes on AWS Backup.
• Performance tuning: query optimization, indexing, capacity planning.
• Collaborate with DevOps on Terraform for RDS and infrastructure automation.
