Job summary

Fuze Health Inc. is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to join the Technology Platform team for the Hospice business unit. You will lead the AWS database modernization, migrating SQL Server workloads to RDS or upgrading on EC2, and modernize SSIS/SSRS while optimizing costs.

You will mentor the Hospice DBA team and ensure HITRUST compliance across systems. You will collaborate with DevOps on Terraform, establish Datadog/CloudWatch monitoring, and shape the 2027 roadmap for PostgreSQL/Aurora

Qualifications

• 8+ years of database administration experience.
• Deep expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) performance tuning, high availability and disaster recovery.
• Hands-on upgrades to SQL Server and end-of-support migrations.
• Strong SSIS and SSRS experience.
• Experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server) setup, migration and monitoring; Multi-AZ.
• Experience with AWS-native ETL/data migration tools (DMS, Glue).
• Knowledge of backup/restore strategies and point-in-time recovery.
• Experience with monitoring tools (Datadog, CloudWatch).
• Regulated environments experience (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2).

Responsibilities

• Lead SQL Server modernization on EC2: migrate to AWS RDS or upgrade off 2016 with testing.
• Migrate and maintain SSIS ETL and SSRS reports; re-platform to AWS-native or upgrade on SQL Server EC2.
• Drive database cost optimization: right-sizing, Reserved Instances, storage tiering.
• Upskill Hospice SQL DBA team on AWS database operations and RDS management.
• Establish cloud-native monitoring using Datadog and CloudWatch.
• Design automated backup/restore and disaster recovery with AWS Backup.
• Perform query optimization, index management and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with DevOps on Terraform for RDS infrastructure.
• Ensure HITRUST E1 compliance across database systems.
• Support Hospice app team with database-related development needs.
• Evaluate future modernization (PostgreSQL, Aurora) for 2027 roadmap.
