Job summary

Fuze Health Inc. in the United States is seeking a Senior Database Administrator for Fuze Care Services. You will lead the AWS database modernization for a hospice-focused platform, migrating SQL Server to AWS RDS, upgrading versions, and modernizing ETL/ reporting pipelines.

You will mentor the Hospice DBA team and establish cloud-native monitoring and DR practices. The role requires deep SQL Server expertise (2016+), SSIS/SSRS, and experience with AWS tools (DMS, Glue) and Terraform.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of database administration experience.
• Expertise with Microsoft SQL Server 2016+ performance tuning, HA, and DR.
• Hands-on upgrades of SQL Server and end-of-support migrations.
• Strong SSIS and SSRS development and administration.
• Experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server) and multi-AZ.
• Experience with AWS DMS, AWS Glue or plan to modernize SSIS ETL.
• Backup/restore strategies and point-in-time recovery.
• Monitoring with Datadog, CloudWatch, and SQL Server DMVs.
• Proficiency in T-SQL and query optimization.
• Regulated environments: HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and execution of SQL Server modernization on EC2; migrate to AWS RDS or upgrade off SQL Server 2016.
• Assess, migrate, and maintain SSIS ETL and SSRS reports, re-platform or upgrade.
• Drive database cost optimization and right-sizing.
• Upskill Hospice SQL DBA team on AWS DB ops and RDS management.
• Establish cloud-native monitoring with Datadog and CloudWatch.
• Design automated backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes.
• Perform query optimization, index management, and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with DevOps on Terraform for RDS and infra automation.
• Ensure HITRUST/HIPAA compliance for all DB systems.
• Support Hospice app team with DB-related development needs.
