Fuze Health Inc. is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to lead the Hospice unit's database modernization across AWS. You will drive SQL Server migrations on EC2 to AWS RDS, modernize SSIS/SSRS, optimize costs, and mentor the Hospice DBA team on cloud DB operations, security, and compliance.

The role emphasizes planning, testing, and implementing backup/DR strategies while collaborating with DevOps on Terraform automation and cross-team initiatives to support nationwide hospice applications.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of database administration experience in healthcare or regulated environments.
• Strong expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) performance tuning, HA and DR.
• Hands-on upgrades and end-of-support migrations (e.g., SQL Server 2016).
• Proficiency with SSIS and SSRS for ETL and reporting workloads.
• Experience with AWS RDS, multi-AZ, and cloud-native data movement tools.
• Knowledge of database cost optimization and capacity planning.
• Familiarity with HITRUST/HIPAA compliance and security practices.
• Ability to mentor a DBA team and collaborate with DevOps.
• Comfort with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code and RDS management.

Responsabilités

• Plan and execute SQL Server modernization on EC2 and move to RDS.
• Assess and migrate SSIS ETL and SSRS reports; re-platform or upgrade.
• Drive cost optimization through right-sizing, RI evaluation, and storage tiers.
• Upskill Hospice DBAs on AWS database operations and best practices.
• Establish cloud-native monitoring with Datadog and CloudWatch.
• Design automated backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes.
• Perform query optimization, indexing, and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with DevOps on Terraform-based automation.
• Ensure HITRUST, encryption, access controls, and audit logging.
