Job summary

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Wesley Chapel is seeking a Senior Speech Language Pathologist to lead patient care and mentor a team of therapists in a rehabilitation setting. You will guide patients through speech and communication challenges, supervise staff, and collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care.

This role requires current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist, CCC, CPR (BLS) within 30 days, and a minimum of two years

Qualifications

• Current licensure or certification required by state regulations.
• Successful completion of SLP Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC).
• CPR certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Bachelor's degree in speech therapy or management. Master's or Doctorate degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years speech language pathology experience.
• Active on Therapy Clinical Ladder (when eligible) or specialty professional certifications.

Responsibilities

• Providing direct care to patients and building rewarding relationships by understanding each patient's physical, mental, and emotional needs to aid in their recovery.
• Assisting with speech language in-service education and our speech language pathologist student program.
• Mentoring and training new colleagues and other departments as needed.
• Delegating and supervising speech therapy assistants and technicians.
• Celebrating patient victories along the way.
