Job summary

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Wesley Chapel is seeking a Senior Speech Language Pathologist to lead the team in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. The role focuses on guiding patients through speech and communication challenges while mentoring staff and expanding in-service education.

The position requires active state licensure, CCC certification, CPR within 30 days, and a minimum of two years in the field.

Qualifications

• Current licensure or certification required by state regulations.
• Successful completion of CCC (Cert. of Clinical Competence).
• CPR certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Bachelor's degree in speech therapy or management; Master’s or Doctorate preferred.
• Minimum of two years speech language pathology experience.
• Active on Therapy Clinical Ladder or specialty professional certifications.

Responsibilities

• Providing direct care to patients and building rewarding relationships to aid recovery.
• Assisting with speech language in-service education and our student program.
• Mentoring and training new colleagues and other departments as needed.
• Delegating and supervising speech therapy assistants and technicians.
• Celebrating patient victories along the way.
