Job summary

Affirm is hiring a Staff Sales Engineer to help enterprise merchants design and implement scalable checkout solutions on the Affirm platform. You will lead technical discovery, analyze requirements, and craft well-architected solutions while supporting pre-sale activities and winning deals.

As part of the Merchant Engineering team, you will work cross-functionally with sales, engineering, and product to shape offerings, build reusable assets, and scale technical engagement models across major

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in business/technology, or equivalent technical account management experience.
• 4+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solution Architecture, Partner Engineering, Solutions Engineering, technical sales or pre-sales roles.
• 3+ years of current experience in payments, fintech, or related industry.
• Strong technical acumen in API integrations, SaaS platforms, and enterprise architectures.
• Proven ability to manage multiple assignments independently and drive projects to completion.

Responsibilities

• Serve as subject matter expert on integration solutions and map capabilities to merchant systems.
• Architect elegant end-to-end solutions addressing customer challenges and trade-offs.
• Build trust with technical stakeholders and enterprise merchants.
• Partner with sales and partner engineering to drive opportunities for large customers.
• Provide input to product management on customer needs and feature prioritization.
• Create and share best practices, assets, and training materials for go-to-market efficiency.
• Provide technical and architectural input into sales planning and forecasting.
• Develop pre-sales materials and demos for new products/features.
• Build and present custom demos as required.
