Job summary

Cloudera is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to own the technical sales process from initial meetings to post-sales success. You will tailor solutions for enterprise customers using Cloudera technologies, based on reference architectures and best practices.

The role requires 8+ years in pre-sales, strong presentation skills, and experience with cloud platforms and data-related technologies. This is a remote-friendly position with competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in a pre-sales customer facing role (Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, technical consultant, Solutions Architecture or similar).
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to create and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations.
• Experience with Big Data, Data Warehousing or Relational Databases.
• Exposure to cloud services: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of Data Engineering, Data Science or Machine Learning.
• Understanding of Operations, Security and Data Governance in enterprises.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical sales process from introductory meetings through post-sales activities.
• Support the technical needs of customers including discovering new use cases for Cloudera's technology.
• Design solutions based on reference architectures and common patterns.
• Demonstrate Cloudera products to inspire customer adoption.
• Partner with Account Managers to show value of Cloudera solutions.
• Present product roadmap and vision to customers.
• Coordinate with internal teams to present one Cloudera voice.
• Advocate for customer needs to Product Management and Engineering.
• Participate in external publicity (conferences, meetups, webinars, blogs).
• Align achievements with team goals and annual sales targets.
