Job summary

Cloudera is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to own the technical sales process from initial meetings to post-sales success. You will design customer-specific solutions using Cloudera technologies, demonstrate capabilities, and partner with Account Managers to showcase value and drive renewals.

The role emphasizes customer-facing leadership, architecture design, and public speaking at conferences andMeetups, with a focus on data platforms and cloud integrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
• At least 8 years in a pre-sales customer facing role.
• Ability to create and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations.
• Experience with Big Data, Data Warehousing or Relational Databases.
• Experience with one or more cloud providers (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Unix or Linux experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical sales process from intro meetings through post-sales.
• Support customers by discovering new use cases for Cloudera's technology.
• Design solutions based on reference architectures and patterns.
• Demonstrate Cloudera products to inspire customer buy-in.
• Collaborate with Account Managers to show value and drive renewals.
• Present product roadmap and vision to expand customer engagement.
• Interface with other Cloudera teams to present a united voice.
• Advocate for customer needs to Product Management and Engineering.
• Participate in external publicity and evangelism (conferences, meetups, webinars, blogs).
• Contribute to achieving team sales targets and knowledge sharing.
