Job summary

Cloudera is seeking a customer facing Senior Solutions Engineer in the Sales Engineering area. You will own the technical sales lifecycle and partner with Account Managers to drive value for enterprise customers. The role emphasizes hands-on technology, solution design, and compelling demonstrations.

Expect to engage with Big Data, cloud platforms, and data governance while enabling post-sale success and renewals across major clients in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
• A minimum of 8 years of professional work experience in a pre-sales customer facing role.
• A passion for using technology to make a difference with strong customer outcomes.
• Ability to create and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations.
• Experience with Big Data, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), data engineering/data science, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical sales process from intro meetings through post-sales (satisfaction, upsell, renewals).
• Support customers by discovering new use cases for Cloudera technology.
• Design solutions for customers based on reference architectures and patterns.
• Demonstrate Cloudera products to inspire customer engagement and purchases.
• Collaborate with Account Managers to illustrate value and drive sales.
• Present product roadmap and vision to expand customer scope.
• Coordinate with other Cloudera teams to present a unified voice.
• Advocate for customer needs to Product and Engineering.
• Participate in external marketing activities (conferences, webinars, blogs).
• Align achievements with team sales targets and knowledge sharing.
