Job summary

Cloudera is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer, a hands-on technologist to own the technical sales process from introductory meetings to post-sales support. You will collaborate with Account Managers and demonstrate Cloudera data platforms to inspire confidence and drive value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years in a pre-sales customer facing role (Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, technical consultant, Solutions Architecture or similar position).
• Ability to create and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations.
• Experience with Big Data, Data Warehousing or Relational Databases.
• Experience with one or more cloud providers (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Experience with Data Engineering, Data Science or Machine Learning.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical sales process from introductory meetings through post-sales (customer satisfaction, upselling, and subscription renewals).
• Support the technical needs of customers including discovering new use cases for Cloudera's technology.
• Design solutions for customers using Cloudera technologies, based on reference architectures and common patterns.
• Demonstrate Cloudera products to inspire customers to say yes.
• Partner with Account Managers to show customers the value of a Cloudera solution and drive sales.
• Present product roadmap and vision to inspire customers to think bigger.
• Interface with other Cloudera teams to ensure a single Cloudera voice.
• Advocate for customers' needs to Product Management and Engineering.
• Participate in external publicity and evangelism (conferences, meetups, webinars, blogs).
