Job summary

Cloudera is hiring a Senior Solutions Engineer in Boston, MA. This mid-senior level role focuses on owning the technical sales process and partnering with Account Managers to drive customer success and renewals.

As a hands-on technologist, you will design solutions, demonstrate offerings, and advocate for customer needs with Product and Engineering while engaging in external events and ongoing knowledge exchange.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field.
8+ years in pre-sales, customer-facing roles in the enterprise.
Ability to deliver technical presentations and demos.
Experience with Big Data, data warehousing, or relational databases.
Cloud experience with AWS/Azure/GCP preferred.
Strong problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Own the technical sales process from introductory meetings through post-sales.
Support customers' technical needs and discover new use cases for Cloudera's technology.
Design solutions using Cloudera technologies based on reference architectures.
Demonstrate Cloudera products to inspire customers to say "yes".
Partner with Account Managers to show value and drive renewals/upsells.
Present product roadmap and vision to inspire larger thinking.
Interface with other Cloudera teams to ensure a unified voice.
Advocate for customer needs to Product Management and Engineering.
Participate in external publicity and evangelism (conferences, meetups, webinars, blogs).
Align achievements to team goals and annual sales targets.
