Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to drive solar PV and integrated battery energy storage system (BESS) project development across the US and internationally. You will work with Business Development, Execution and Finance teams to qualify opportunities and perform technical due diligence.

The role requires 5+ years in renewable energy project development and design, with proficiency in PV and storage modeling tools, CAD, and MS Excel.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in engineering or equivalent technical field.
5+ years of renewable energy project development, design, analysis and construction.
Proficiency with PVSYST, HOMER, SAM, Helioscope and Plant Predict.
Proficiency with AutoCAD.
Proficiency with MS Office applications, advanced Excel skills.
Plus: MS in engineering or MBA, NABCEP PV cert, OSHA 10, SketchUp/Skelion.

Responsibilities

Energy production modeling for projects in development (PVSYST, Helioscope, Plant Predict).
Battery dispatch modeling for projects in development (Excel, Matlab).
Site evaluation (remote and in-person) for project suitability.
Project pricing and value engineering exercises with an Estimator.
Create preliminary plant designs, site layouts, single lines.
Recommend primary project equipment (inverters, PV modules, racking, batteries).
Technical diligence for new project opportunities and third-party data validation.
Support for RFPs, Greenfield Development, and Acquisition studies.
