Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to drive solar PV and integrated battery energy storage system (BESS) project development across the US and internationally. The role focuses on expanding AES's owner-operated renewable portfolio and coordinating with business development, execution, and finance teams.

You will evaluate opportunities, perform technical due diligence, and respond to RFPs while leading preliminary design evaluations and design coordination.

Qualifications

• Undergrad degree in engineering or equivalent; 5+ years in renewable energy project development, design, analysis and construction.
• Proficiency with PV/system modeling tools: PVSyst, Helioscope, Plant Predict; CAD tools like AutoCAD; MS Office with advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Model energy production for development projects (PVSYST, Helioscope, Plant Predict).
• Model battery dispatch for development (Excel, Matlab).
• Conduct site evaluations (remote and on-site) for project suitability.
• Support RFPs, Greenfield Development and acquisition studies up to 30% design.
• Develop technical deliverables for RFP responses and proposals, coordinating with internal teams.
