AES Corporation is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to drive solar PV and integrated battery energy storage system (BESS) project development across the US and internationally. The role focuses on preliminary design evaluation, due diligence, and coordinating with Business Development, Execution and Finance teams.

The candidate will have deep experience in PV and storage system design, analysis and financial metrics for PPA projects, with travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in engineering or equivalent technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, design, analysis and construction.
• Proficiency with common renewable energy system modeling tools and packages such as PVSYST, HOMER, SAM, Helioscope and Plant Predict.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications, advanced Excel skills.

Responsabilités

• Energy production modeling for projects in development (PVSYST, Helioscope, Plant Predict).
• Battery dispatch modeling for projects in development (Excel, Matlab).
• Site evaluation (remote and in-person) for project suitability.
• Project pricing and value engineering exercises with an Estimator.
• Create preliminary plant designs, site layouts, single lines.
• Recommend primary project equipment (inverters, PV modules, racking, batteries).
• Technical diligence for new project opportunities, assessing accuracy and feasibility of third-party data.
• Support for RFPs, Greenfield Development, and Acquisition conceptual to 30% design studies.
• Development of technical deliverables for RFP responses and proposals.
