Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to drive solar PV and integrated battery energy storage system (BESS) project development across the US and internationally. The role involves early design evaluation, coordination with Business Development, Execution and Finance teams, and a focus on 2–500 MW projects.

Responsibilities include modeling, technical diligence, RFP responses, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to grow AES's owner-operated renewable portfolio.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in engineering or equivalent technical field.
5+ years in renewable energy project development, design, analysis and construction.
Proficiency with PV modeling tools such as PVSYST, HOMER, SAM, Helioscope and PlantPredict.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

Energy production modeling for projects in development.
Battery dispatch modeling for projects in development.
Site evaluation for project suitability (remote and in person).
Support for RFPs, Greenfield development, and acquisition studies.
Develop technical deliverables for RFP responses and proposals.
