Job summary
AES is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to drive solar PV and integrated battery energy storage system (BESS) project development across the US and Internationally, with the goal of increasing our portfolio of owner-operated commercial, industrial and utility scale renewable power plants. Development Engineer will work with a team to qualify new opportunities, perform technical due diligence, and respond to RFPs from utilities, municipalities and others for the procurement of
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in engineering or equivalent technical field.
- 5+ years in renewable energy project development, design, analysis and construction.
- Proficiency with common renewable energy system modeling tools (PVSYST, Helioscope, Plant Predict, HOMER, SAM).
- Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD and MS Office applications.
Responsibilities
- Qualify new solar and battery storage opportunities for development.
- Perform technical due diligence and respond to RFPs from utilities and others.
- Coordinate with Business Development, Execution and Finance teams.
- Create preliminary plant designs, site layouts, single lines, and equipment recommendations.
- Support RFPs, Greenfield Development, and Acquisition studies; develop technical deliverables.
