Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to drive solar PV and integrated battery energy storage system (BESS) project development across the US and internationally. The role focuses on qualifying opportunities, performing technical due diligence, and responding to RFPs for renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities include design evaluation, coordinating with Business Development, Execution, and Finance teams, and developing technical deliverables for proposals.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in engineering or equivalent technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, design, analysis and construction.
• Proficiency with common renewable energy system modeling tools and packages (PVSYST, HOMER, SAM, Helioscope, Plant Predict).
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD and advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Energy production modeling for projects in development (PVSYST, Helioscope, Plant Predict).
• Battery dispatch modeling for projects in development (Excel, Matlab).
• Site evaluation (remote and in-person) for project suitability.
• Project pricing and value engineering with an Estimator.
• Create preliminary plant designs, site layouts, single lines.
