Job summary
AES Corporation is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to drive solar PV and integrated battery energy storage system (BESS) project development across the US and internationally. The role focuses on technical due diligence, design evaluation, and responding to utility and municipal RFPs.
You will work with the Business Development, Execution, and Finance teams to qualify opportunities and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to advance projects from concept to 30% design.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in engineering or equivalent technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, design, analysis and construction.
- Proficiency with PVSYST, HOMER, SAM, Helioscope and Plant Predict.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office with advanced Excel.
Responsibilities
- Energy production modeling for projects in development (PVSYST, Helioscope, Plant Predict).
- Battery dispatch modeling for projects in development (Excel).
- Site evaluation for project suitability (remote and in-person).
- Project pricing and value engineering with an Estimator.
- Create preliminary plant designs and layouts.
