Job summary

SolAmerica Energy, a private equity-backed solar and energy storage developer, seeks a Solar Quality Engineer to be the technical guardian across construction sites. You will own QA/QC, enforce NEC and EPC standards, and manage NCR lifecycles to maximize asset reliability and financial performance.

The role emphasizes field execution, listening to stakeholders, and coordinating commissioning with EPC contractors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years Solar-Specific QA/QC experience for owner-developer, IE firm, or tier-1 EPC contractor.
• Proven track record of positive renewable energy project construction results.
• Deep understanding of the solar industry.
• Familiarity with utility interconnection processes and testing requirements.
• NABCEP or other certifications.
• OSHA 30 (strongly preferred).
• Drone operating experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Own and manage internal Quality Assurance Plan at active construction sites.
• Review EPC Quality Control Plans against contract documents.
• Use PMIS or other CM software for inspections and quality checks.
• Coordinate field quality checks with internal and external stakeholders.
• Oversee third-party site quality inspections and Independent Engineer reviews.
• Define approvals for Energize with EPC contractors.
• Inspect electrical/mechanical installation per QA Plan.
• Verify contractor tests meet EPCA, NEC and IE specs.
• Manage testing requirements from utilities, AHJs, or owners.
• Own performance standards and EPC capacity test reviews.
• Oversee installation and commissioning with safety compliance.
