Job summary
AES Corporation is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to drive solar PV and BESS project development across the US and internationally. You will work with a cross-functional team to qualify opportunities, perform due diligence, respond to RFPs, and help design preliminary plant layouts.
The role emphasizes technical modeling, proposal support, and collaboration with Business Development, Execution and Finance teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical field.
- 5+ years of renewable energy project development, design, analysis and construction.
- Proficiency with PV modeling tools: PVSYST, Helioscope, Plant Predict; CAD: AutoCAD.
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
Responsibilities
- Energy production modeling for projects in development (PVSYST, Helioscope, Plant Predict).
- Battery dispatch modeling for projects in development (Excel, Matlab).
- Site evaluation (remote and in-person) for project suitability.
- Project pricing and value engineering exercises with an Estimator.
- Create preliminary plant designs, site layouts, single lines.
- Support for RFPs, Greenfield Development, and Acquisition conceptual to 30% design studies.
- Development of technical deliverables for RFP responses and proposals, both by self-performing, and coordinating external consultants.
