Job summary

AES Corporation seeks a Senior Development Engineer to drive solar PV and integrated battery energy storage project development across the US and internationally. You will qualify new opportunities, perform technical due diligence, and respond to RFPs from utilities, municipalities, and others for renewable energy procurement.

The role requires PV and battery storage design/analysis experience (2 MW to 500 MW) and proficiency with modeling tools; up to 15% travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years in renewable energy project development, design, analysis and construction.
• Proficiency with PVSYST, Helioscope, SAM, Plant Predict and related tools.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD.
• Advanced Excel skills for modeling and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Energy production modeling for projects in development (PVSYST, Helioscope, Plant Predict).
• Battery dispatch modeling for projects in development (Excel, Matlab).
• Site evaluation (remote and in-person) for project suitability.
• Project pricing and value engineering exercises with an Estimator.
• Create preliminary plant designs, site layouts, single lines.
• Recommend primary project equipment (inverters, PV modules, racking, batteries).
• Technical diligence for new opportunities and third‑party data validation.
• Support for RFPs, Greenfield Development, and Acquisition studies.
