Job summary

The AES Corporation is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to drive solar PV and battery energy storage project development across the US and internationally. You will work with a team to qualify opportunities, perform technical due diligence, and respond to RFPs for renewable energy procurement.

Candidates should have extensive PV and battery storage design experience, feasibility analysis, and experience with project pricing and PPAs. Travel up to 15% is required.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in engineering or equivalent technical field.
5+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, design, analysis and construction.
Proficiency with common renewable energy system modeling tools and packages, such as PVSYST, HOMER, SAM, Helioscope and Plant Predict.
Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD; strong MS Excel skills.

Responsibilities

Energy production modeling for projects in development (PVSYST, Helioscope, Plant Predict).
Battery dispatch modeling for projects in development (Excel, Matlab).
Site evaluation for project suitability (remote and in-person).
Support for RFPs, Greenfield Development, and Acquisition studies up to 30% design.
