Job summary
AES Corporation is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to drive solar PV and battery energy storage project development across the US and internationally. You will work with a team to qualify opportunities, perform technical due diligence, and respond to RFPs from utilities and municipalities for renewable energy procurement.
The role focuses on design evaluation, coordinating with Business Development, Execution, and Finance teams. Travel up to 15% is expected.
Qualifications
- Experience in renewable energy project development, design, and analysis.
- Proficiency with PV and storage modeling tools and CAD software.
- Strong MS Excel skills and data analysis capability.
Responsibilities
- Model energy production for projects in development using PVSYST/Helioscope/Plant Predict.
- Conduct battery dispatch modeling and site evaluation for project viability.
- Prepare preliminary plant designs and layouts; support RFPs and proposals.
- Collaborate with BD, Execution, and Finance teams on due diligence.
- Lead technical deliverables and coordinate external consultants when needed.
- Travel up to 15% to project sites and partner offices.
