Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to drive solar PV and integrated battery storage project development across the US and internationally. You will help qualify opportunities, perform technical due diligence, and respond to RFPs for renewable energy procurements.

The role involves preliminary design evaluation, collaboration with Business Development, Execution, and Finance teams, and travel up to 15% to project sites and partner offices.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in engineering or equivalent technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, design, analysis and construction.
• Proficiency with renewable energy modeling tools (PVSYST, HOMER, SAM, Helioscope, Plant Predict).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office (advanced Excel).
• Experience responding to RFPs and doing technical due diligence.

Responsibilities

• Energy production modeling for projects in development (PVSYST, Helioscope, Plant Predict).
• Battery dispatch modeling using Excel/Matlab.
• Site evaluation for project suitability (remote and in-person).
• Support for RFPs and Greenfield Development through ~30% design studies.
• Develop technical deliverables for proposals, coordinating with consultants.
