Job summary

AES Corporation is actively seeking a Senior Development Engineer to drive solar PV and battery energy storage project development across the US and internationally. You will collaborate with a team to qualify opportunities, perform technical due diligence, and respond to RFPs from utilities and municipalities for renewable energy procurement.

The role focuses on preliminary design evaluation, coordinating with Business Development, Execution, and Finance teams. Travel up to 15% is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in renewable energy project development, design, analysis and construction.
• Proficiency with PVSyst, HOMER, SAM, Helioscope and Plant Predict.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with MS Office and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Energy production modeling for projects in development (PVSYST, Helioscope, Plant Predict).
• Battery dispatch modeling for projects in development (Excel, Matlab).
• Site evaluation (remote and in-person) for project suitability.
• Development of technical deliverables for RFP responses and proposals.
