Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Software Test Engineer for a 100% remote US-based role in the Veterans Affairs (VA) department. You will design and execute test plans, develop automated tests, and collaborate with developers and project leaders to ensure high-quality information systems.

Must have strong programming skills and experience with SDLC/Agile. Candidates should be proficient in C#, Java, or Python, and familiar with Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, CI/CD, and version control.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in C#, Java or Python.
• Proven track record on complex software projects with high-quality deliverables.
• Experience in both manual and automated testing.
• Familiarity with SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Writing and executing test cases, scripts, and plans.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, cases, and procedures to ensure information systems meet standards and end-user requirements.
• Develop test plans, schedules, and approaches.
• Write test cases/scripts and identify data for scenarios.
• Lead tests to ensure proper operation and defect-free software.
• Document and communicate test results and track issues.
• Create daily test metrics and reporting.
• Occasionally perform other IT systems engineering activities.
