Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Software Test Engineer for a 100% remote US-based role focused on testing complex information systems. The candidate must have strong programming skills in languages such as C#, Java, or Python and extensive experience in both manual and automated testing.

You will develop test plans, scripts, and data for test scenarios, conduct walkthroughs with project leads, and verify system functionality while ensuring high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of total work experience and 10+ years in software testing/QA.
• U.S. Citizenship required for this opportunity.
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust (MBI) clearance.
• Strong programming skills in C#, Java, or Python.
• Experience with manual and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test procedures.
• Write test cases and scripts; identify data for test scenarios.
• Conduct walkthroughs with Test Managers, Requirement Leads, and Developers.
• Perform and lead tests to ensure defect-free operation of IT systems.
• Document and communicate test results to stakeholders.
• Support analysis of test results and resolution of open issues.
• Mentor junior testers and guide test activities.
• Develop daily test metrics and reporting.
