Job summary

Leidos in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Software Test Engineer to test software for Tactical strike guided munition programs. The role stresses automated testing, robust test infra, and integration testing across embedded systems.

You will lead software test activities, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with customers and internal teams to ensure product quality and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, CS, or equivalent with GPA ≥3.0.
• 12+ years of relevant experience with BS or 10+ with MS.
• U.S. citizen eligible for DoD security clearance.
• Experience testing/troubleshooting embedded software interfacing with embedded systems.
• Resident of North Alabama or willing to relocate to Huntsville area.
• Experience leading or mentoring software test teams.
• Proven automated testing for embedded systems.
• Proficiency in C#/.NET, C, C++, Java, Python, or Ruby.
• Ability to work across multiple products/teams.

Responsibilities

• Participate in test planning, strategy, design, execution, and quality recommendations.
• Review, edit, and generate engineering/testing documents per industry standards.
• Provide software test leadership and mentor junior engineers.
• Communicate with customers and team members regularly.
