Job summary

Vantor is seeking a Senior-Level Software Engineer to support the FALCON effort. This remote-friendly role requires active U.S. government clearance and US citizenship, with the ability to collaborate across data scientists, engineers, and stakeholders to build mission-focused software and data pipelines.

You will contribute to backend services, APIs, and analytics while mentoring teammates and guiding technical design within an agile, remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required.
• Current Top Secret clearance and/or CBP/DHS suitability.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering or a related field (4 additional years of experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. A master’s degree may count as an additional 2 years of experience.).
• 6+ years demonstrated professional experience with programming, design, and/or development.
• Professional experience with one or more strongly-typed programming languages such as Java, Rust, or similar.
• Professional experience with one or more scripting programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar.
• Must be willing to lead technical discussions, mentor technical staff, and drive technical design and engineering efforts.
• Working knowledge of agile software development practices and tools, such as Jira, Confluence, and git.
• Must be willing to work in a remote setting or nearby Vantor facility and comfortable communicating via video calls.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to the continued research, development, and sustainment of mission-focused software applications, backend services, APIs, data processing workflows, and analytical capabilities.
• You will support data scientists and mission partners by creating and/or refining software applications, maintaining and enhancing existing custom applications, troubleshooting defects, improving performance, contributing to code reviews and technical documentation, and helping deliver reliable capabilities in an agile, remote-first environment.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to design, implement, test, and deploy scalable data-driven solutions.
