Job summary

Vantor Inc. is seeking a Senior-Level Software Engineer to support the FALCON effort. Remote within continental US.

You will build, refine, and sustain mission-focused software applications, data pipelines, and services, collaborating with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver timely, actionable insights. You will lead technical discussions, mentor staff, and drive engineering efforts in an agile, remote-first environment, leveraging Java, Rust, Python/JS/TS, and modern

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen.
• Current Top Secret security clearance and/or CBP/DHS suitability.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering or a related field (4 additional years of experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. A master's degree may count as an additional 2 years of experience.).
• 6+ years demonstrated professional experience with programming, design, and/or development.
• Professional experience with one or more strongly-typed programming languages such as Java, Rust, or similar.
• Professional experience with one or more scripting programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar.
• Must be willing to lead technical discussions, mentor technical staff, and drive technical design and engineering efforts.
• Working knowledge of agile software development practices and tools, such as Jira, Confluence, and git.
• Must be willing to work in a remote setting or nearby Vantor facility and comfortable communicating via video calls.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to the continued research, development, and sustainment of mission-focused software applications, backend services, APIs, data processing workflows, and analytical capabilities.
• You will support data scientists and mission partners by creating and/or refining software applications, maintaining and enhancing existing custom applications, troubleshooting defects, improving performance, contributing to code reviews and technical documentation, and helping deliver reliable capabilities in an agile, remote-first environment.
