Job summary

Vantor is seeking a Senior-Level Software Engineer to support the FALCON effort. This role can be performed remotely within the continental United States and requires an active U.S. Government security clearance.

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen and eligible for a U.S. Government security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering or a related field (4 additional years of experience may be substituted; master's degree may count as 2 additional years).
• 6+ years demonstrated professional experience with programming, design, and/or development.
• Professional experience with strongly-typed languages such as Java, Rust, or similar.
• Professional experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar.
• Willing to lead technical discussions, mentor staff, and drive engineering efforts.
• Working knowledge of agile development practices and tools (Jira, Confluence, git).
• Willing to work remotely or at a Vantor facility and comfortable with video communication.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to ongoing research, development, and sustainment of mission-focused software applications, backend services, APIs, and data processing workflows.
• Support data scientists and mission partners by building/refining applications, troubleshooting defects, improving performance, and delivering reliable capabilities in a remote-first environment.
