Job summary

Vantor is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer to support the FALCON effort. This role can be performed remotely within the continental United States and requires a Top Secret security clearance.

You will build and sustain mission-focused software, collaborating with data scientists and stakeholders to turn data into actionable insight. You will work with Java, Rust, Python, and JavaScript/TypeScript, in a remote-first agile environment, contributing to back-end services, data processing, APIs,

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Current Top Secret clearance and/or CBP/DHS suitability.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering or related field; 4 years additional experience may substitute for degree; master's may count as 2 years.
• 4+ years demonstrated professional experience with programming, design, and/or development.
• Experience with Java, Rust or similar.
• Experience with Python, JavaScript, TypeScript or similar.
• Working knowledge of agile software development practices and tools such as Jira, Confluence, and git.
• Must be willing to work in a remote setting or nearby Vantor facility and comfortable communicating via video calls.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to the continued research, development, and sustainment of mission-focused software applications, backend services, APIs, data processing workflows, and analytical capabilities.
• Support data scientists and mission partners by creating/refining software applications, maintaining/enhancing existing custom applications, troubleshooting defects, improving performance, contributing to code reviews and technical documentation, and delivering reliable capabilities in an agile, remote-first environment.
