affirm is hiring a Senior Frontend Engineer to own and deliver quarterly goals for the team, guiding engineers through ambiguity while delivering high-availability web systems.

You will collaborate with product, design and analytics, articulating technical constraints and trade-offs, and leading in solving critical issues. The role emphasizes ownership, mentorship, and a strong focus on quality across the stack.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience developing and architecting web applications using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue.
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience defining a technical plan for delivery of a significant feature with an elegant, simple design.
• Skilled at making significant changes in a large code base with safe tooling and practices.
• Demonstrated ownership of growth and proactive feedback from team and stakeholders.
• Strong verbal and written communication for collaboration with a global team.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team, guiding engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems.
• Collaborate with product management, design & analytics to ideate, articulate constraints, and decide on risks and trade-offs.
• Proactively identify issues and lead in solving them across project, process, or technology areas.
• Support operations and availability of team artifacts by creating/monitoring metrics and on-call support.
• Foster a culture of quality by setting code review and design standards and advocating for them beyond the team.
• Develop talent by giving feedback and leading by example.
