Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to architect and build the PoP Control-Plane Network Services, the software layer that manages a dynamic mesh of satellite customer terminals in real time.

You will design a highly available control plane, implement distributed components across terrestrial and orbital nodes, and optimize time-series telemetry databases. Expect collaboration across security, ops, and product teams in a fast-paced spaceflight environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in C++, Rust, or Go.
• Deep experience with distributed systems, consensus (Raft, Paxos), caching, and messaging (Kafka, gRPC).

Responsibilities

• Architect the Control Plane using microservices patterns for provisioning and session management.
• Develop stateful distributed services spanning data centers and orbital nodes.
• Design high-throughput database schemas for telemetry data (SQL/NoSQL/Time-Series).
