Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle is seeking a Senior Aerospace Software Engineer to lead design, development, and deployment of software critical to our missions. You will mentor engineers and drive full lifecycle from requirements to deployment for flight control, data analysis, and simulation tools.

The role requires strong programming skills (Python, Java, or C++), Linux experience, and a solid grasp of data structures and OO design.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
8+ years of professional software development experience.
Strong proficiency in Python, Java, or C++.
Experience with front-end and/or back-end application development.
Experience with software development in a Linux environment.
Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and maintenance of software applications for aerospace systems.
Collaborate with systems engineers, mission designers, and stakeholders to define software requirements and architecture.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
Develop user interfaces that are intuitive and meet operators’ needs.
Create and maintain software for data processing, analysis, and visualization.
Develop and maintain simulation software for testing and verification of aerospace systems.
Participate in the full software development lifecycle in an agile environment.
