Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in the Greater Seattle Area is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to architect and build the PoP Control-Plane Network Services, the software layer that manages a dynamic mesh of satellite customer terminals in real-time.

You will be a founding member of our PoP infra team, ensuring highly available end-to-end connectivity across network endpoints as the distributed brain of a space-based ISP.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Expert-level proficiency in C++, Rust, or Go.
• Distributed systems with Raft or Paxos; familiarity with Kafka and gRPC.
• Cloud-native microservices with Kubernetes and service mesh technologies.
• Observability using Prometheus, Jaeger and OpenTelemetry.

Responsibilities

• Architect the Control Plane for the PoP network services.
• Build scalable, low-latency distributed systems across data centers and orbital nodes.
• Design databases (SQL/NoSQL/Time-Series) for billions of telemetry points.
