Leidos is seeking a Software Engineer SME to lead and shape software solutions for the Chinook program supporting IC customers. You will design, develop, integrate, test, deploy, and maintain mission‑critical applications across cloud, on‑prem, and containerized environments.

The role emphasizes hands‑on leadership, architecture influence, mentorship, and collaboration with government and contractor stakeholders. Active TS/SCI is required.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required for the contract.
• 12–15 years of relevant experience for Bachelor's; 10–13 years with Master’s.
• Experience with web front‑end and back‑end frameworks and REST APIs.
• Experience designing, developing, integrating, testing, deploying, and maintaining mission critical applications.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical SME and advisor for Chinook mission applications.
• Design, develop, integrate, test, deploy, and maintain web apps and backend services.
• Develop scalable, secure software across front‑end and back‑end tiers.
• Translate requirements into robust architecture and implementation plans.
• Lead design reviews, coding standards, and best practices.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, and data services.
• Build responsive front‑end interfaces with modern frameworks.
• Design/optimize database schemas and data processing workflows.
• Troubleshoot complex issues; support CI/CD and DevSecOps.
• Contribute to containerized/cloud environments and Agile ceremonies.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote consistent engineering practices.
• Identify performance, security, reliability improvements.
• Evaluate emerging technologies for mission requirements.
