Job summary

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer SME to join the Chinook Program supporting our Intelligence Community customer. You will shape solutions, influence architecture, and mentor engineers while delivering secure, scalable software across web apps and services.

Lead full lifecycle development, drive best practices, and collaborate with government stakeholders. This role requires Top Secret/SCI clearance and hands-on leadership in a multi-location setting.

Qualifications

• US citizenship required per contract.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Software Eng with 12–15 years of exp or Master's with 10–13 years.
• Proficient with HTML, CSS, JSON, REST APIs; Python/Java/JavaScript; Go.
• Front-end/back-end frameworks: React/Angular/Vue.js/JQuery/Spring Boot/Django/Node.js/Flask/Svelte.
• Cloud: multi-cloud AWS/GovCloud, IBM, Google, Azure, Oracle; AWS services S3/SQS/SNS/EC2/CF/RDS.
• Relational and NoSQL databases; Windows/Linux; Git; Terraform/CloudFormation.
• Docker/Kubernetes; DevSecOps tooling: GitLab/Jenkins/SonarQube/Nexus/Keycloak/Vault.
• Agile/Scrum; JIRA/Confluence knowledge; GEOINT data standards.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical SME and advisor for Chinook mission apps.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain modern web apps and backend services.
• Develop scalable, secure software across front-end and back-end tiers.
• Lead coding standards, reviews, and engineering best practices.
• Develop RESTful APIs, microservices, data services, and integrations.
• Build responsive front-ends with modern web frameworks.
• Design/optimize database schemas and data-processing workflows.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues; support CI/CD and DevSecOps.
• Contribute to containerized/cloud environments and agile ceremonies.
• Mentor engineers and promote consistent engineering practices.
