Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Software Engineer SME to lead full lifecycle development of mission-critical applications for the Chinook program. You will mentor engineers, shape architecture, and drive secure, scalable software across front-end and back-end tiers.

You will design and deliver RESTful APIs, microservices, and data services while collaborating with government stakeholders. A Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph is the norm for this role, with multiple US locations.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required for contract.
• Bachelor's in CS/Software Eng with 12–15 years of prior relevant experience or Master's with 10–13 years.
• Proficient with web tech: HTML, CSS, JSON, REST APIs.
• OO programming: Python, Java, JavaScript.
• Advanced: Go.
• Front-end/back-end frameworks: React, Angular, Vue.js, jQuery, Spring Boot, Django, Node.js, Flask, Svelte.
• Cloud: multi-cloud (AWS, IBM, Google, Azure, Oracle). AWS services: S3, SQS, SNS, EC2, CloudFormation, RDS.
• Relational DB: MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server; NoSQL: OpenSearch/ElasticSearch.
• OS: Windows, Linux; VCS: Git.
• AWS GovCloud/C2S and IaC: Terraform, CloudFormation.
• Containerized services: Docker, Kubernetes.
• DevSecOps tools: GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, SonarQube, Nexus, Keycloak, Vault.
• Agile/Scrum tools: JIRA, Confluence
• Data standards: OGC WMS/WFS, NSG, GEOINT.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical SME and advisor for Chinook mission applications.
• Design, develop, integrate, test, deploy, maintain modern web apps and backend services.
• Develop scalable, secure software across front-end and back-end tiers.
• Translate mission requirements into robust software architecture and plans.
