Job summary

Leidos seeks a Software Engineer SME to drive senior technical leadership on the Chinook program, delivering secure, scalable software across front-end and backend tiers. You will shape architecture, mentor teams, and collaborate with government stakeholders in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment.

You will design, develop, test, and deploy modern software, implement APIs, and promote best practices in DevSecOps and Agile workflows across multiple locations, supporting national security

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Software Eng or related field with 12–15 years of experience, or Master's with 10–13 years.
• Proficient with HTML, CSS, JSON, REST APIs; languages: Python, Java, JavaScript; Go.
• Experience with React/Angular/Vue.js and modern frameworks.
• Cloud development across AWS, IBM, Google, Azure, Oracle; AWS services listed.
• RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and OpenSearch/Elasticsearch.
• Git, Terraform, CloudFormation, Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD tooling.
• Experience with DevSecOps tools and Agile/Scrum (JIRA, Confluence).
• Familiarity with data standards like GEOINT workflows.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical SME and advisor for Chinook mission applications.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain modern web and backend services.
• Develop scalable, secure software across front‑end and back‑end tiers.
• Lead software design, coding standards, code reviews, and best practices.
• Develop RESTful APIs, microservices, and data services.
• Mentor engineers and promote consistent engineering practices.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and product demonstrations.
• Support CI/CD, DevSecOps, and cloud‑enabled environments.
