Job summary

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer SME to join the Chinook Program supporting the Intelligence Community. You will lead the full software lifecycle, shaping architectures, mentoring engineers, and delivering secure, scalable software for national security objectives.

Key emphasis on hands-on leadership, modern web development, cloud-enabled services, DevSecOps, and collaboration with government stakeholders across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required for contract eligibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/SE or related field; 12–15 years exp, or Master’s with 10–13 years exp.
• Proficient with web, backend, and cloud technologies listed in qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical SME and advisor for Chinook mission apps.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain modern web apps and services.
• Develop scalable, secure software across front-end and back-end tiers.
• Translate requirements into robust architecture and implementation plans.
• Lead code reviews, standards, and engineering best practices.
• Develop RESTful APIs, microservices, and data services.
• Build responsive front-ends with modern frameworks.
• Design and optimize database schemas and data workflows.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and support CI/CD and DevSecOps.
• Contribute to containerized and cloud-enabled environments.
• Mentor engineers and promote consistent practices.
• Identify performance, reliability, security improvements.
• Evaluate emerging technologies for mission needs.
