Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Software Engineer SME to lead technical direction for the Chinook program in support of the Intelligence Community. You will design, develop, integrate, test, deploy, and maintain mission-critical applications, mentoring engineers and guiding best practices across teams.

Active Top Secret/SCI clearance is required. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, modern software engineering, and collaboration with government and contractor stakeholders.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required for contract.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 12–15 years relevant experience (or Master’s with 10–13 years).
• Proficient with web, OO, and cloud technologies including AWS, Terraform/CloudFormation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical SME and advisor for mission applications.
• Design, develop, integrate, test, deploy, and maintain modern web apps and backend services.
• Develop scalable, secure software across front-end and back-end tiers.
• Translate requirements into robust software architecture and implementation plans.
• Provide technical leadership in design, coding standards, reviews, and best practices.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, data services, and system integrations.
• Build responsive front-end interfaces using modern frameworks.
• Design and optimize database schemas and data-processing workflows.
• Troubleshoot complex application and production issues.
• Support CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.
• Contribute to containerized and cloud-enabled environments.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and mentor engineers.
