Remitly is hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer to scale funding and disbursement processing globally. You will own feature delivery across pay-in/pay-out networks, driving AI-assisted development in a cloud-based architecture, and mentoring engineers while maintaining high scalability and reliability.

Expect collaboration with global teams and a strong emphasis on secure, observable services. Ideal candidates bring 6+ years in consumer software, 2+ years on AWS, leadership experience,

Qualifications

• 6+ years building consumer software products.
• 2+ years with services deployed on AWS.
• 1+ year leading features with multiple engineers.
• Experience migrating legacy services into modernized architecture.
• Payments/Fintech experience is a bonus.
• Clear and objective writing and communication.
• Experience using AI tools to accelerate code construction, testing and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of new partner integrations for pay-in/pay-out networks.
• Leverage AI-assisted development to accelerate delivery and ensure correctness, security and maintainability.
• Deliver well-tested, observable, documented, scalable, and resilient solutions.
• Own the operational health of services including on-call, SLOs and incident response.
• Interview candidates and mentor new hires via code reviews and ramp-up.
• Drive task breakdown, estimates and tradeoffs with PMs and engineering teams.
• Collaborate with global Operations to address customer-facing problems.
